The contract is good for 30 years - through 2038!!!  The resort is affiliated with Interval International (a timeshare exchange organization), and the regular week can be exchanged within the Interval network, which includes hundreds of resorts worldwide.  (The two VIP weeks must be used at the resort in Cabo.) The Buy-It-Now price is a down payment on the timeshare; thereafter, you would make the monthly payments of $410 for the remaining period, which ends in January 2013 - so only a little more than four years of payments.  The down payment is based on the money I've already put into the unit, plus fees associated with transferring ownership.  This is really a stunning resort, and if I could keep this timeshare, I would in a heartbeat.  Annual maintenance fees on the unit are $495, which is very reasonable for a timeshare club.  The annual membership fee for Interval is $99.
